The reality is, that very few people continue regular practice. But that is very important if you want to master the art of meditative lifestyle. Do not forget that meditating is an art and one should train his/her mind and soul. Doing this on a regular basis will lead to true mastery in this field. The size of the room is not so important as its convenience and design. Your meditation room can be small, it does not matter. But the more important thing is to consider a suitable design and decoration of the room.
While designing your meditation place especially remember about – cushions,
small prayer table,
CD player,
candles,
peaceful pictures / photos,
a vase of flowers.
All of these items will complete your room’s special design. They will also help you concentrate and meditate better. That is very important particularly for beginners.
Especially listening to music on a CD player may be very helpful for you. It is supposed that since 1973 yogis have started to use music for meditative purposes. You may wonder how music can affect or help our meditating ability. It has been proven that when we listen to music for relaxation, frequencies of our brain change. The brain then starts releasing endorphins that in turn lead to feelings of happiness and harmony. In other words, we get certain inner peace from the music for relaxation we are listening to. Through mediating we are then able to turn ourselves into maximum peace and balance.
So now decide yourself if you really need a special room for meditating. If your house is not too large to organize a separate room, then it is quite enough to create a small peaceful corner. Here the most important thing you should consider is, to create a very calm and peaceful place for your meditations.
