If you search for the meaning of love in a dictionary it is defined in many ways, like: intense affection, a feeling of attraction resulting from sexual desire, enthusiasm or fondness and or a beloved person.
Those are some of the definitions of love.

Thinking about it, we may have felt one or two of these feelings once or more than once in our lives.

Now let’s search for the meaning of sexuality. It is defined as: The condition of being characterized and distinguished by sex, concern with or interest in sexual activity, sexual character or potency and or how people experience and express themselves as sexual beings.

With the definitions given we somehow have an idea why love and sexuality is correlated with each other.
There 4 types of love emotion according to research studies, namely Erotic Love, Platonic Love, Familial Love and Romantic Love. Let’s go over these types of love quickly;

• Erotic love is a type of love that focuses on the love of sexual desire especially the anticipation of sexual activity.
• Platonic love is a deep and spiritual connection between two individuals: within such a relationship there does not exists any form of sexual connection or sexual elements. In short this is what you call love for a friend.
• Familial love s a type affinity or natural affection felt between members of a group bound by common ancestry or blood ties, or through friendship and care. This one is self-explanatory.
• Romantic love in the abstract sense of the term is traditionally referred to as involving a mix of emotional and sexual desire for another as a person.

With this article we’ll focus more on romantic love, since it’s the perfect combination of love and sexuality.
As defined above, love is a feeling of intense affection and a feeling of attraction resulting to sexual desire. To understand the correlation more, we have to define each term which what we have just done.

When you feel love for a person, it’s like we are ready to do everything just for him or her to prove and to show that we truly love them.

We can show love and affection in many ways, aside from telling your love one that you love him or her, we go out of our way to show him or her, that we love them.

It can be by giving him a simple gift, surprising him with a love letter or a dinner that you cook specially for him, sending him simple messages reminding him to have some breakfast, bringing him something to drink when you know that he’ll be thirsty.

Those may sound like simple things. Yes, they are simple. But they are gestures of love that you feel for the person.

But with all these, where does sexuality comes in?

The ultimate way of showing someone that you love him or her is by making love with each other which in biological terms is identified as sexual intercourse. It is according to research the highest level or gesture of love. But how can you differentiate love making from casual sex?

Casual sex is done by two people who don’t feel love for each other it’s not even necessary to even care about each other; they do it just to satisfy their sexual needs. Where in love making it’s done by two people who care about for each other and or feel love for one another.

They do it, to show and express their love and affection for one another, becoming as one which makes it the ultimate way of showing each other that you feel love for one another.
